How to point a subdomain using HOSTGATOR
So, check which of the tutorials below makes the most sense for your control panel.
Access the DNS Zone through CPANEL
- Log in to your HostGator account;
- Going to the "My sites" menu, click on "cPanel";

- In cPanel, in the search field, look for Zone. Then, click on DNS Zone Editor;

- In the box for the desired domain, click on Manage;

- On the next screen, click on Add record;

- In the fields that should appear, fill in the information as follows:

In the "Name" field, add the subdomain you want to use with GreatPages;
Change the Type from "A" to "CNAME".
In the "Record” field, enter "cname.greatpages.com.br".
Then click on “Save changes”.
After that, according to HostGator, it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to be propagated everywhere.
Access the DNS Zone through the CUSTOMER PORTAL
- Log in to your HostGator account;
- In the Customer Portal, click on "Domains";

- Then, on the desired domain, click on "Change DNS";

- After that, scroll down the page to DNS Zone, as shown in the video below;

- On that same screen, click on Add record;
- In the fields that should appear, fill in the information as follows:

In the "Name" field, add the subdomain you want to use with GreatPages;
Change the Type from "A" to "CNAME".
In the "Record” field, enter "cname.greatpages.com.br".
Then click on “Save changes”.
After that, according to HostGator, it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to be propagated everywhere.
Access the DNS Zone through WHM
- Log in to your HostGator account;
- In the Customer Portal, in the left sidebar, click on "Products". Then, in the hosting plan box, click the "WHM Panel" button;

- Now, in the WHM panel, in the search bar, look for "dns". Then, click on "DNS Zone Manager";

- On the new screen, in the row of the domain whose zone you want to access, click on "Manage";

- After that, you should have access to the DNS Zone of the desired domain, as in the video below;

- On this screen, click on "Add Record" or "Adicionar Registro", if it is in Portuguese;

- In the fields that should appear, fill in the information as indicated:
TYPE (or Type): Select the CNAME entry;
NAME (or Name): Fill in this field with the subdomain you are going to use in GreatPages;
TTL: Enter HostGator's default value, 14400;
VALUE: Add "cname.greatpages.com.br".
To save, click on "Add Record"!

After that, according to HostGator, it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to be propagated everywhere.
Access the DNS Zone through PLESK
- Log in to your HostGator account;
- In the Customer Portal, click on "Products". Then, in the Dedicated Server box, click on "Manage";

- On the new screen, click on "Plesk Panel";

- In Plesk, logged in as admin, click on the "Domains" tab. Then, click on the domain whose DNS zone you want to access;

- On the new screen, click on "DNS Settings";

- After that, you should have access to the DNS Zone of the desired domain;

- Then, click on "Add record";
- In "Host", add the subdomain you are going to use in GreatPages. Set the "Record type" to "CNAME", and in the "Value" field add "cname.greatpages.com.br". Then click to Save!
After that, according to HostGator, it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to be propagated everywhere.
It is important to note that the subdomain you point must not be in use on any other website outside GreatPages. For example: if you already use “www” on another website, you will not be able to use it on your pages.
