How to integrate with the FACEBOOK API (CAPI)
Why integrate with the Facebook API
Facebook announced changes to Facebook tracking (Pixel and Conversions API) that will affect your site soon. Every domain with a Pixel or Conversions API must now be verified by Facebook and can only track a total of 8 conversion events. This change was made due to the release of iOS14.
To continue tracking events with the Facebook Pixel or Conversions API:
Verify your domain on Facebook: this is a mandatory step. It's important to verify your domain as soon as possible to ensure your tracking isn't affected when Facebook applies the policy changes.
Choose the events you want Facebook to track: after verifying your domain, you need to choose the 8 events that will be used for conversion tracking. If you don't select the events, Facebook will automatically assign events for you.
How to install the Facebook Pixel
- On the Minhas páginas tab, find the page where you want to install the Facebook API and click Editar Design;

- Inside the editor, click the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen;

- Then go to Integrações;

- Enable the "Facebook Pixel" option and enter the Pixel's "ID de rastreamento";

You'll find this tracking ID (pixel ID) inside your Facebook account, as in the example below.
- Finally, click Salvar and the Pixel will be installed on your page!
How to generate the Facebook API integration Token
To use the Facebook Conversions API and integrate it with GreatPages, you first need to create a Token in the Events Manager of your BM (Business Manager).
To create this Token, follow the tutorial below:
- Go to your Business Manager, then click on "Open in Events Manager";

- In the left menu, click "Data Sources", then go to the "Settings" menu, as shown in the image;

- Inside Settings, scroll down the page to the "Conversions API" section. You'll click the "Generate Access Token" button, as shown in the image below.

- When you do this, a box with your token will open. Copy the token and save it.

How to integrate the Facebook API with GreatPages
- Once you have the integration token, go back to your page editor and click the "gear icon" in the top right corner of the screen;

- Click on “Integrações” again;

- In the Integrações menu, you'll already have the Facebook Pixel enabled, and now you just need to enter the token generated in the Facebook API into the "Informe o Token da API de conversão" field;

- After setting up the Token, the next step is to select the Event that will be fired by the Facebook API.

- Finally, add the Test Event code in the last field to be filled in, so you can run an event to test whether the integration is working.

You'll find this event by going to the "Test Events" tab inside Facebook, as shown in the two images below.

- After adding the Test Event, just save the settings you made in GreatPages by clicking "Salvar"!
