How to ENABLE the COOKIE CONSENT message on a page

The cookie banner is a feature that can be used both to inform visitors about your cookie usage and policy and to control the use of cookies based on the visitor's consent.

While the primary benefit of the former is fostering a transparent relationship with visitors, the latter may be necessary for operations in regions with data protection and privacy laws—such as Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What happens when the visitor does not authorize the use of cookies

Since cookies serve various purposes, a visitor's refusal to use this technology can have different effects. Some common consequences include: reduced visibility of unique visitors, a decrease in lead source data, loss of information regarding pages visited by a specific lead, and the disabling of auto-fill features for that specific visitor.

Certain functionalities remain available even when a user declines the use of cookies. These behaviors are driven by strictly necessary cookies and include: forms, cookie consent responses, and pop-ups that have already been acknowledged.

  1. On the "My pages" tab, locate the page you want to edit and click on it.;
  2. Inside the editor, click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.;

  1. Then access "LGPD & GDPR";

  1. When you do this, a box will open where you will need to enable or disable lead notifications;

  1. The next step is to choose whether to use a "cookie notice" or "cookie consent." The difference between them is that a notice simply alerts the visitor that cookies are being used on the page, whereas consent ensures cookies are used only with the visitor's approval..

To comply with the LGPD (General Data Protection Law), consent must be active, giving the visitor the option to accept or decline the use of cookies.

  1. Still on the screen shown above, you will need to write your cookie usage message. We have provided some suggestions in the next section;
  2. If you scroll down, you will see a field labeled "Privacy Policy or Cookies," where you need to enter the link to your privacy policy or cookie usage terms page.

On this same screen, you can set the color of the box that displays the message to visitors;

  1. Next, click "Save".
