How the CODE TYPES of GreatPages work

When you add a code in GreatPages you need to classify the Code Type it best fits into.

These codes are basically external scripts that are added by going to the page editor, clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen and then clicking on "Javascript & CSS".

What are the 3 code types of GreatPages

When you are adding a new code, you will notice that there are 3 code types, which are:

Funcionamento

Functionality codes are those that do not capture visitor data and only serve for the basic operation of the page.

Examples: Domain verification on Facebook, chat installation, installation of a specific animation, etc.

**Estatísticas **

Statistics codes, as the name itself says, are those codes that serve to monitor how visitors browse the page.

Examples: Hotjat, Google Analytics, Smart Look, among others.

Marketing

Marketing codes, on the other hand, are those used by campaign analysis tools that capture visitor data.

Examples: Facebook Pixel, Google Tag Manager and others.

Why does this code classification exist?

The main reason why the script classification exists within GreatPages is to help with the correct application of the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law).

According to the LGPD, visitors who access your pages must be able to allow, or not, the capture of any personal data.

Therefore, the code classification helps us initially run the codes for the basic Functionality of the page, and only run the Marketing and Statistics codes if the visitor allows the use of cookies while browsing.

This only happens when, in the "LGPD & GPDR" settings, you, as a GreatPages user, set the Cookie Alert Type as "Consentimento do Uso de Cookies".

That way, as the name itself says, the "Consentimento do Uso de Cookies" option only applies the Marketing and Statistics codes on the page when the visitor approves their use.

The other Cookie Alert Type option is the "Aviso sobre o Uso de Cookies", and this one does apply all 3 code types as soon as the visitor accesses the site. After all, it does not request consent, it only provides the notice.
