# How to VERIFY A DOMAIN on FACEBOOK ADS with GreatPages

### How to verify a domain on Facebook using a TXT FILE

1. Access your Business Manager on Facebook, go to the **"Brand safety"** menu and then click on **"Domains"**;

2. After that, click to **"Add"** a new domain, or if you already have a registered domain you want to verify, simply open that domain;

3. If you clicked to Add, a small box like the one below will open, where you will need to enter the domain you want to register;

4. After registering the domain and clicking **"Save"**, you will be redirected to a tab where you will need to change the verification type you will use to **"Update the DNS TXT record with your domain registrar"**;

5. Next, copy the record shown in the image below, as you will need it in the next steps;

6. Now, access the platform where you manage your domain's DNS (this is usually the platform where you purchased the domain);

7. Within this platform, open the **"DNS zone editor"**, and click to add a new record;

8. Enter the **"Type"** **TXT** entry;
Add **@** to the **"Host"** (or "Name") field, only if required;
**Paste the TXT record** copied from Facebook Business Manager into the record field and save the settings.

9. After the changes propagate on your domain's Web servers, click the **“Verify domain”** button inside Facebook;

Done! Your domain is now verified! :)

### How to verify a domain on Facebook using the META TAG

1. Access your Business Manager on Facebook, go to the **"Brand safety"** menu and then click on **"Domains"**;

2. After that, click to **"Add"** a new domain, or if you already have a registered domain you want to verify, simply open that domain;

3. If you clicked to Add, a small box like the one below will open, where you will need to enter the domain you want to register;

4. After registering the domain and clicking **"Save"**, you will be redirected to a tab containing the domain verification **"Meta tag"**, which you should copy at this point;

Once you have the verification Meta tag in hand, you will need to log in to your GreatPages account and follow the steps below:

||| **IMPORTANT**: Domain verification **must** be done on the published page with exactly the same address you want to verify, **without the page link**. If you want to verify the bare domain, without a subdomain (e.g.: "greatpages.com.br"), you will need to have pointed it to GreatPages. 1. Access your page editor;

2. Click on the **gear icon** in the top right corner of the screen;

3. Open the **"Javascript & CSS"** menu;

4. Click to **"Adicionar"** a new code;

5. Give your code a name, select the **"**Operation**"** option (it is essential to use this setting) and then add the Meta tag you copied from Facebook into the text field. It will look exactly like the example below;

6. Next, click on **"Saver"**!

7. If your page is already published, click on **"Atualizar"**; if it isn't published yet, publish it;

8. After that, go back to the Facebook Business Manager screen to validate the verification by clicking the **"Verify domain"** button.

Done! Your domain is now verified! :)
