# How to use RULERS to ALIGN ELEMENTS in GreatPages

The use of **Rulers** in the **GreatPages** page editor can be triggered through the **"Shift +R" shortcut**.

After using the shortcut, the rulers will be applied in your editor. And to add new alignment guides, **click and drag the guides from inside the ruler areas**.

To **hide the alignment guides**, use the "**Shitf+R**" keyboard shortcut again.
