How to IMPORT FONTS from Google Fonts in GreatPages

To import fonts from Google Fonts, follow the step by step below:

  1. Go to https://fonts.google.com/ and choose the font you want to import;
  2. Open the page editor;

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen;

  1. Then click "Javascript & CSS";

  1. Click "Adicionar" to add a new code;

  1. Choose a name for your code, select the "Operation" option and add the entire code below into the text field;

<link href="LINK DA FONTE" rel="stylesheet">

<style>
.gpc-e .c.e_titulo h1, .gpc-e .c.e_titulo h1 * {font-family: 'NOME DA FONTE', sans-serif;}
</style>

  1. After pasting the code into GreatPages, you will need to go to Google Fonts to find the font link and the font name in order to edit the code;
  2. In Google Fonts, you will need to select the font you want to import and click the "Select Thin 100" button shown in the image below;

  1. When you do that, a box will open on the side of the screen with the two pieces of information (shown in the image below) that you will need to copy and add to the code you pasted into GreatPages;

  1. You will need to make two changes to the code: the first one is to replace where it says LINK DA FONTE and paste the link highlighted in red in the image below.

The second change is to copy the font name, shown in the image below, into the spot in the code where it says NOME DA FONTE. In the end, your code will look just like the example below;

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Pathway+Extreme:wght@100&display=swap" rel="stylesheet">

<style>

.gpc-e .c.e_titulo h1, .gpc-e .c.e_titulo h1 * {font-family: 'Pathway Extreme', sans-serif;}
</style>

Then click "Save"!

When importing a font to your page, it is important to understand how it will be set up and displayed:

  • Initial setup: When you import a font, it is initially set up to be used in the headings.
  • Display: The imported font can only be seen in preview mode and on the published page. It will not appear in the editor alongside the other available fonts.

Font via code: Keep in mind that, even after importing, the font does not become "native" to the platform, since it is implemented via code.
