# How to apply a DELAY TO ELEMENTS in GreatPages

You can apply a **display delay** to any native page element.

Let's use a button element as an example. Here is the step-by-step process:

1. Go to the page editor;

2. Regardless of the element type, click "**Edit**";

3. The button's editing screen will open; click the "**Configure**" menu to find the "**Display delay**" option. Here, you can set the delay duration using two fields: the first for **minutes** and the second for **seconds**;

4. Once you do this, the "**Delay only on first visit**" option becomes available. If enabled, returning visitors won't have to wait for the delay again;

5. That's it—the setup is complete! To test it, click the "**Preview**" icon in the top right corner of the editor screen;

6. In the page preview, a small box will appear indicating the delay and offering an option to skip the wait time and view the page elements immediately. 

|| This box does not appear on the published page! It only shows up in the preview so you can skip the wait time if needed.
